Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – MAGMA, a leading provider of casting simulation software, is excited to announce a strategic partnership with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (“HCMUTE”). This collaboration represents a significant step forward in bridging academia and industry to support the expanding metal casting market in Vietnam.
The signing ceremony took place at HCMUTE on September 20, 2024. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang, Acting President of HCMUTE, and Mr. Jan Eilers, General Manager of MAGMA Engineering Asia-Pacific, formalized the agreement, which includes the donation of a MAGMASOFT® 6 license to the university.
The MAGMASOFT® license will enhance lecture content by utilizing its visualization capabilities, offering students valuable insights into the casting process. Students will have the opportunity to set up, work on, and analyse projects, deepening their understanding of how adjustments to process parameters and casting layouts affect quality and productivity. Additionally, MAGMASOFT® will support students in their thesis and conduct research through virtual optimization and design of experiments.
This powerful tool will also serve as a vital resource for lecturers, laying a strong foundation for researching and publishing impactful scientific articles. HCMUTE plans to host seminars for foundries and die casters, emphasizing the benefits of using technology to create a positive impact on the environment and the metal casting industry in Vietnam.
Jan Eilers expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are honoured to partner with HCMUTE to enhance the quality of teaching and research. MAGMASOFT® is not only a powerful tool for metal casting engineers but also a platform for students to refine their skills and confidently enter the global job market. We believe this collaboration will provide practical value and unlock new opportunities for both parties.”
