MAGMA ASEAN User Group Meeting 2025

The MAGMA ASEAN User Group Meeting 2025 was held on 19th February 2025, from 09:00 to 16:00 Indonesia time at the Holiday Inn Cikarang Jababeka Hotel, Indonesia. The event was exclusively for MAGMA customers from the ASEAN region, with approximately 60 participants from various industries, including automotive, engineering, mining, education and manufacturing.

The event kicked off with a welcome speech by Mr. Jan Eilers, General Manager of MAGMA Engineering Asia-Pacific, who shared details about the growth of MAGMA globally and in Asia, as well as the successful ongoing business and marketing activities in the ASEAN region. Mr. Eilers also highlighted the company's growth, stating, “Across Asia, MAGMA has added almost 100 new licenses in the last 2 years. Naturally, most of them in China and India. But also here in the ASEAN region, MAGMA has been quite successful.”

The event featured 6 user presentations delivered by various MAGMA users, alongside 3 presentations by the MAGMA team. These included insights on the latest software release, MAGMASOFT® 6.1 and its future development, hardware requirements, and MAGMA ECONOMICS – Keeping an Eye on Costs & Emissions.

Robson Rodrigues, Head of Academy at MAGMA Engineering Asia-Pacific, shared in his presentation, "While MAGMASOFT® users aim to improve quality and reduce cycle times, quantifying their impact, especially on costs and CO2 emissions, has been challenging. With MAGMASOFT® 6.1, MAGMA ECONOMICS now allows users to link simulation data with economic and ecological values. This enables the calculation of costs and CO2 emissions, helping users make informed decisions and identify the most cost-effective designs and projects with the highest potential savings."

Nofri Hasanudin, an experienced software user with 12 years of experience, expressed his satisfaction, saying, "It’s truly impressive to see how quickly the young engineers in today’s presentations are learning and applying the software to improve their company’s production processes. They’re making the process more robust and efficient, even starting to use the software from the R&D stage."

At MAGMA worldwide, we are always committed to organizing such meetings to provide a platform for our software users to exchange knowledge, learn from the MAGMA community, and maintain connections with their peers in the foundry industry. Looking ahead, the next MAGMA ASEAN User Group Meeting will be held in two years' time, in 2027. Additionally, the MAGMA User Group Meetings for ANZ and Thailand users are scheduled for April 2025 and June 2026.
