In this course, you will learn:

  • Solidification & Cooling - Shrinkage behaviour, nucleation, cooling curves analysis, microstructure.
  • Gating System Development - Calculation, with/without filters, ceramic gates – how to design gating system for large castings, vertical and horizontal parting line.
  • Feeding System Development - Calculation, with/without exothermic sleeves, process Influence parameters – mould hardness, inoculation, chemical composition, pouring temperature, melt quality.
  • Defects & Possible Solutions - Shrinkage porosity, core gas, air entrapment, dross inclusion, sand burn/penetration, sand inclusion.

The course will incorporate simulation examples as practical case studies, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios effectively. Don't miss this opportunity to expand your expertise in cast iron foundry technology. Email Show email to register today!
